Advanced Design
The air fan and fan housing are made from tough ABS plastic, which allows a more complex construction than metal casings and keeps the weight down. At under 20kg this extractor is highly mobile and easy to move around the workshop. The lighter fan can also be made a bigger diameter, so it moves a greater volume of air - over 1000 cubic metres per hour, more than ample for any bandsaw, planer, table saw or lathe.
Auto Power Tool Start
Use it in Manual mode, started and stopped with the onboard switch, or in Auto mode with your power tool or woodworking machine plugged into the onboard socket on the extractor. Start your tool and the extractor starts automatically; stop the tool and the extractor runs on for a few seconds to clear any remaining dust from the hose, then stops. No more forgetting to start the extractor before making a cut, and it only runs for as long as it is needed.
Low Noise
The induction motor is very quiet in use - nothing like the noise levels of vacuum type extractors - so it can run in the background without needing ear protection.
Large Collection Capacity
All shavings, chips and dust are collected into a transparent plastic bag, so you can see when to empty it. It is held in place by a quick action clamp and can be emptied and refitted, or replaced with a new one.
Filtration
The filter will contain particles above 5 microns in size, which is all you need for most woodworking. If you work with MDF or do more than occasional sanding, consider an extractor with a finer filter.
Airflow Rate
Factory airflow figures are measured in different ways (with or without a filter, hose or splitter fitted, at 50hz or 60hz), so Charnwood test every extractor themselves with the filter bag in place and the supplied 100mm hose fitted, taking the reading at the end of the hose. That is the real airflow you will get when connected to your machines: factory rate 1150m3/hour, Charnwood test 1095m3/hour.
The maximum running time is 2 hours without rest. For continuous professional extraction, see the W796 from Charnwood's professional range.
Supplied with 2m length of 100mm transparent flexible hose (left hand helix), 2 hose clamps, transparent plastic collection bag with quick release metal strap, wheels and lifting handle, Manual/Auto mode switch, 2.0m cable and UK 3 pin plug.
