The Finial Mandrel fits into the tail stock and offers support for the fine end of a finial whilst turning the rest of it. The Finial Mandrel Kit has 3 Delrin (nylon type) inserts with 3 sizes 3mm, 4.5mm & 6mm hole depending on the size of Finial being turned. 1 Morse Taper (1MT). Made in the UK.
How to identify the Morse taper size of a lathe
To determine the Morse taper (MT) size of a woodturning lathe simply measure the internal diameter of the headstock spindle or tailstock quill.
1MT is approximately 12mm 2MT is approximately 18mm 3MT is approximately 24mm
Most woodturning lathes are either 1MT or 2MT and have the same size tapers at both ends. However, some older lathes can have different sizes for the headstock and tailstock.
