Rotur's Deluxe Pen Mandrel has been designed to provide a means of holding practically any size of pen barrel during the turning operation. It is capable of accommodating either one or two components at a time by simply adjusting the length of the shaft protruding from the shank. The colleted mandrel has been designed so that the collet is totally concealed and is therefore dust free. Supplied with 7mm bushings and locknut kit for use with larger blanks. Made in the UK.
How to identify the Morse taper size of a lathe
To determine the Morse taper (MT) size of a woodturning lathe simply measure the internal diameter of the headstock spindle or tailstock quill.
1MT is approximately 12mm
2MT is approximately 18mm
3MT is approximately 24mm
Most woodturning lathes are either 1MT or 2MT and have the same size tapers at both ends. However, some older lathes can have different sizes for the headstock and tailstock.
