Sizing Tool
Sorby's Sizing Tool is used for
cutting spigots to a precise size. It can be used with standard
parting tools, diamond parting tools, beading and parting tools
and bedans.
To use the sizing tool set the
parting tool to the desired size with a steel rule - lock tool
in position by tightening the wing screws. Rough out the timber
to within 1/2" of the desired size using skew chisel,
beading and parting tool, or parting tool. Use the sizing tool
with a backward and downward pressure to produce the accurate
finished diameter.

Threading And Sizing Gauge
Sorby's Threading And Sizing
Gauge is ideal for box-makers as it takes the guess work out of
fitting the major and minor diameters of pieces. With the gauge
set at the unmarked anvil this creates 1:1 correlation between
the measuring faces and facilitates accurate push fits.
The other three anvils are marked
10, 16 and 20 which relates to the TPI most commonly used by
thread cutters. The gauge has a built in compensation factor to
ensure a perfect, tight thread fit between internal and external
diameters every time.
